Project 10 Pan Update #3- FINALE!

Hey, y'all! It's finally here, the last Project 10 Pan update!!!
If you want to check out the previous posts, you can click one of the links below:

Original Project 10 Pan Post
Update Post #1
Update Post #2

Beside each product that I've completely finished, I'll put "complete" and for the ones I've hit pan on, I'll put "panned." Also, for the products that are completely gone, I'll say whether or not I'll repurchase. For each item, I'll have the picture from last update, and then a current one. For products which were completed last update, they'll just have a single picture, without any info. Products which were panned last update which have not yet been completed will be labelled "Still panned" rather than simply "panned" to denote a difference.

Let's get into the updating!

Project 10 Pan

#1) e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator- COMPLETE

#2) L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup- COMPLETE

A new picture won't do any good for this, because you can't tell that it's all gone, but it is!
Amount of product left: Nada.
Opinion about the product: So, I realized recently that although it always looked awesome when I put it on in my terrible dorm lighting, it actually made my face orangey. So... not as good as I thought.
Will I repurchase? Probably not, after seeing how orangey it made me.

#3) L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder- STILL PANNED

It still looks just like this, so there was no need for another picture.
Amount of product left: A fair amount. Not a ton, but it's certainly still usable.
Opinion about the product: I really like it when I first put it on, but if I don't set it with the right powder, it doesn't look so great after a few hours.
Will I keep using it? Here and there, but not on a regular basis. I like other powders better.

#4) e.l.f. Translucent Mattifying Powder- COMPLETE

#5) e.l.f. Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara- COMPLETE

I was going to take a different picture, but you can't even tell that it's all gone, so there was no point.
Amount of product left: None!
Opinion about the product: I still like it. I'm just ready to be able to throw one of these away.
Will I repurchase? Yeah, but not until I go through the other one I have!

#6) e.l.f. Eye Shadow Refills- Peach Fizz, Driftwood- STILL PANNED

They still look like this.
Amount of product left: Maybe 3/4 of each one, even though I already hit pan on one.
Opinion about the product: They're OK. I'll kinda be glad to be rid of them.
Will I keep using them? Like the powder, off and on. I have other neutral shadows I prefer.

#7) e.l.f. Cover Everything Concealer- STILL PANNED

Exactly the same as before.
Amount of product left: Still quite a bit.
Opinion about the product: The texture isn't my favorite, and it's a bit dark for me, but it works.
Will I keep using it? No, I have another concealer I like A LOT better.

#8) e.l.f. Eyelid Primer- COMPLETE

#9) e.l.f. Contouring Blush & Bronzer

Before
After
Finally, the pan is visible!
Amount of product left: Still quite a bit.
Opinion about the product: I'm glad to be done with it. I'm not a huge fan of the blush color and got more and more tired of using it as this went on.

#10) L'Oreal Magic Anti-Redness Correcting Primer- COMPLETE!

So, there's my final Project 10 Pan update! As I said in my previous updates, I'm planning on buying some things I've been eyeing for ages, and then going back on Project 10 Pan (or something similar... not quite sure yet). As I've explained, I'm doing this so that I don't impulse buy and regret it later. Especially now, because I'm going to have a bit tighter of a budget than I did over this past year, because I'll be having to pay rent this summer because I won't be at my parents' house. And I need to eat. And drive.

Project 10 Pan: Update #2

Hey, y'all! I was going to wait a bit longer to do an update on Project 10 Pan, but it's been going so well that I decided to go ahead and post an update! If you want to check out the previous posts, you can click one of the links below:

Original Project 10 Pan Post
Update Post #1

I talked about this a bit in my last update, I'm going to start another Project 10 Pan not too long after I finish this one. My plan is that once I finish my Project 10 Pan, I'm going to go to Ulta, purchase the makeup products I've been consistently wanting for the past few months, and then go back on P10P. Hopefully, this will help me spend money only on things I truly want to purchase rather than just impulse buying. I'll also probably write a post about what I end up purchasing at Ulta when I go!

#2) L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup

A new picture won't do any good for this, because you can't tell how much is left. I've been using this as my foundation, but I've been using it very lightly. Slowly but surely, we're getting there!
Amount of product left: Even less than before, and I've definitely used more between Updates 1&2 than between the original and update 1.
Opinion about the product: I still like it, and when I put it on it looks good, but when I go out in the natural light, my face looks like a totally different color than my neck! Yay, terrible dorm lighting!

#3) L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder- STILL PANNED

Before
After
Once I hit pan, I stopped using it so prominently and focused on the liquid foundation. So not much has been done to this in the last month.
Amount of product left: A fair amount. Not a ton, but it's certainly still usable.
Opinion about the product: I really like it when I first put it on, but if I don't set it with the right powder, it doesn't look so great after a few hours.

#4) e.l.f. Translucent Mattifying Powder- COMPLETE

#5) e.l.f. Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara

Before
After
I've used quite a bit of this, since I use it practically every day. I'm surprised it's not gone yet, but it's REALLY close!
Amount of product left: Literally like 5 more uses. I think.
Opinion about the product: I still like it. I'm just ready to be able to throw one of these away.

#6) e.l.f. Eye Shadow Refills- Peach Fizz, Driftwood- PANNED

Before
After
I got to quite a bit of the pan on Driftwood! And I actually just hit pan on Peach Fizz this morning!
Amount of product left: Maybe 3/4 of each one, even though I already hit pan on one.
Opinion about the product: They're OK. I'll kinda be glad to be rid of them.

#7) e.l.f. Cover Everything Concealer- STILL PANNED

Before
After
The pan has gotten a bit bigger, but not a significant change.
Amount of product left: Still quite a bit.
Opinion about the product: The texture isn't my favorite, and it's a bit dark for me, but it works.

#8) e.l.f. Eyelid Primer- COMPLETE

I'm calling this one. I can't see inside it to see if anything is left, but I can't get anything else out of it, so I'm calling it complete!
Amount of product left: Nothing I can get out!
Opinion about the product: I like it, but sometimes it's a bit too light. Which is a shocker since nothing is ever too light on me.
Will I repurchase? Maybe. It's only a dollar, but I'm not sure I really need it.

#9) e.l.f. Contouring Blush & Bronzer

Before
After
I've still been using this almost every day, but I just can't seem to make any progress. I'm so ready to be done with it!
Amount of product left: Quite a bit
Opinion about the product: The more I use it, the more I think it's more of a coral pink, which I'm not such a fan of for blush. I'll be glad to be done with this.

#10) L'Oreal Magic Anti-Redness Correcting Primer- COMPLETE!

This was getting difficult to get product from, and finally, the pump just stopped putting anything out. So, this is complete!
Amount of product left: None!
Opinion about the product: I don't mind it, but I like some other primers better.
Will I repurchase? Nah. At least, not now. Maybe if my acne starts flaring up again.

So, there's my update for my Project 10 Pan! I'll probably post another update in a few weeks, depending upon how quickly this moves along. Hopefully, the remaining products get panned in the next few weeks and I can end this Project 10 Pan and get on to the next one!

Project 10 Pan: Update #1!

Hey, y'all! I was going to wait a bit longer to do an update on Project 10 Pan, but it's been going so well that I decided to go ahead and post an update! If you want to check out the other Project 10 Pan Posts, you can click one of the links below.

Original Project 10 Pan Post
Update Post #2

So a bit of a clarification here, because I wasn't even sure how I was going to do this when I first started. I'm going to consider my project 10 pan completed when I have hit pan on every single product in my Project 10 Pan. The point is to use it all up, but there's at least one product that is going to take a while to hit pan and at that point I'm going to be SO done with it. But hopefully at that point everything else will be completed or almost completed!

Also, I think that I'm going to be doing another Project 10 Pan after this, for much of the same reasons as why I did this one- to save money. Throughout this Project 10 Pan, I've been making lists of things that beauty gurus suggest that I really want. By the end of this, if I still really want it, I'm going to get it and then begin the next project 10 pan. This will help eliminate impulse buying and help me focus on the products I already own. So far, I'm fairly convinced that I'm going to be buying NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat powder foundation by the end of this, as well as NYX's setting spray and Wet N Wild's Comfort Zone palette. But that's further along the line.

Beside each product that I've completely finished, I'll put "complete" and for the ones I've hit pan on, I'll put "panned." Also, for the products that are completely gone, I'll say whether or not I'll repurchase. Let's get into the updating!

Project 10 Pan

#1) e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator- COMPLETE
Before
After

As you can see, I used up the whole thing! This was actually the first thing I used up, because I found myself applying it several times throughout the day.
Amount of product left: NONE!
Opinion about the product: It's ok. I like it better than I did when I started.
Will I repurchase? Nope, not planning on it...

#2) L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup

A new picture won't do any good for this, because you can't tell how much is left. I've been neglecting this just a little bit, because I was using powder so much, but I plan on getting on this and finishing it up
Amount of product left: Less than I had before, but not totally sure
Opinion about the product: The more I use it, the more I realize that it actually is a pretty good color match for me. Overall, I like it!

#3) L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Powder- PANNED

Before
After
I've been mostly using this as my foundation, and it's paid off! I expected to see the rings before the center, so I was totally surprised to see a patch of pan!

Before
After
Wow. It may look like there's still some usable powder in the corners, but I just can't get it out. Especially not with my big kabuki. I was really surprised at how quickly this went. It was nowhere near as deep a pan as I thought. I used it as my setting powder every day, but it's been gone for about 2 weeks at this point!
Amount of product left: None.
Opinion about the product: I like it, but it's definitely not completely translucent. It's slightly darker than my skin tone, and I can definitely tell that it warms up my complexion a bit.
Will I repurchase? Maybe. If I do, I'll use it as a carry-around powder for my purse.

#5) e.l.f. Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara

Before

After
I've used quite a bit of this, since I use it practically every day. I'm surprised it's not gone yet!
Amount of product left: A 1/4 of the eyelash side, which is the one I'm using.
Opinion about the product: I still like it. I'm just ready to be able to throw one of these away.

#6) e.l.f. Eye Shadow Refills- Peach Fizz, Driftwood

Before
After

I know that originally, I had all four on there, but I realized that's just not OK. And you can't get mad at me, because I had FOUR things taking up a single spot. I've narrowed it down to just the two mid-tone shades, which I tend to wear more anyway.
Amount of product left: Maybe 3/4 of each one.
Opinion about the product: They're OK. I'll kinda be glad to be rid of them.

#7) e.l.f. Cover Everything Concealer- PANNED

Before

After
I was actually a little surprised to hit pan, but I tend to work at the same area for a while, so it was bound to happen. I'm going to keep using it though, since the point is to use it all up.
Amount of product left: Still quite a bit.
Opinion about the product: The texture isn't my favorite, and it's a bit dark for me, but it works.

#8) e.l.f. Eyelid Primer

Once again, another picture wouldn't do anything since you can't see inside. How on earth is this not gone yet? Because I forget to use it! I've used it ~4 times a week since starting this. I just constantly forget that it's a step I need to incorporate into my routine. It'll be gone by my next update... maybe?
Amount of product left: Maybe a 1/4 of it.
Opinion about the product: I like it, but sometimes it's a bit too light. Which is a shocker since nothing is ever too light on me.

#9) e.l.f. Contouring Blush & Bronzer

Before

After

This is the one that's going to take forever. I can only use so much daily, and there's quite a bit to use. But, I've been using it pretty much every day! I can kinda see the lines of the pan, so maybe it's getting close to hitting pan?
Amount of product left: Quite a bit
Opinion about the product: The more I use it, the more I think it's more of a coral pink, which I'm not such a fan of for blush. I'll be glad to be done with this.

#10) L'Oreal Magic Anti-Redness Correcting Primer

Once again, a new picture would be a little useless, since it looks the exact same. I've been using it every day, so it's just a matter of time before it's all gone
Amount of product left: Maybe 1/4? I can't really tell.
Opinion about the product: I don't mind it, but I want to finish it up before moving on.

Bonus Products

Oops.

So, these bonus products were a thing... and now they're not. The last couple weeks have been extremely chaotic with school and I've paid less and less attention to the stuff I'm putting all over my face. So, at this point, I'm just going to focus my attention on the products in my actual Project 10 Pan.

So, here's my plan for my Project 10 Pan. I'm hoping to be done with this by the end of the semester. Here's why. When I wasn't on Project 10 Pan, if I saw one of my favorite makeup gurus saying how awesome a product was... I'd probably go buy it the next day. This, however, has given me clarity, and I've been able to see what products I've been wanting throughout this whole thing. So, once I'm done with Project 10 Pan, I'm going to purchase any products I've been wanting throughout the whole thing (2 or 3 come to mind so far) and then start on another Project 10 Pan, which will probably last the summer. So, that's the plan so far!

I'll probably post another update in a few weeks, depending upon how quickly this moves along. Also, don't forget to check back for my new chapter of The Secret Lightning Scar [A Harry Potter Fanfic], which goes up tomorrow at 11 AM central time! Thanks for reading, y'all!

NEW e.l.f. Professional Eye Shadow Brush?!

Ok, maybe I got a bit dramatic with the title, but for me, it's a big deal! One of my favorite beauty vloggers, EmilyNoel83, goes on and on about e.l.f.'s Professional Eye Shadow Brush and how great it is at packing on the color, which caused me to buy it. And at a dollar, why not? Upon buying it, I discovered that it actually is a great little brush!

So, imagine my disappointment when my ferrule detached from the handle! I tried several times to wedge it back in, but it wouldn't stay. I don't have any heavy duty glue with me at college, so I figured the best thing to do would be to buy a new one while at Target. When I picked it up, I thought it looked just a bit different, but I figured it was just because I'd had mine for so long. I also picked up a blending eye brush, because Emily has also highly recommended that one as well as the crease brush (which was sold out).

However, when I got it home, I realized that there were actually significant differences between my old eye shadow brush and the new one. I'll tell you the differences and then tell you if I think this improves the brush, lessens the quality of the brush, or doesn't really make a difference.

New brush on top, Old brush on bottom
Old brush on the left, New on the right
In my opinion, this is the most significant difference. The bristles on the new one are definitely a different material than the old one. They certainly feel synthetic. I don't think this change has made that big of an impact on the quality of the brush, but I do like that the new bristles are softer. The only negative here is that even though the bristles have changed, the new brush sheds just as bad as the old one does.

As you can also see in the picture, the bristles on the new one are much more tapered than on the old one. The old one has just the slightest taper left to right, as well as a slight taper front to back. The new one has a significant taper from right to left, as well as a significant taper front to back. On top of this, the bristles on the new one are also shorter than on the old one, and added with the taper, this makes the bristles just too short. I found myself getting more of the ferrule on my eye than the actual bristles.
Old brush on the bottom, new on the top

Another noticeable difference is that the new brush is a bit shorter. I don't think this significantly changes the quality of the brush, but I do think it's a step in the wrong direction, because with a shorter brush, I feel like it's easier for your hand to accidentally get in your way when applying eye shadow. With a longer brush, you can maneuver it different ways more efficiently.

Old brush on the left, New on the right.
As you can see, the new brush's ferrule is a bit more pinched, and the bristles are more tightly packed in there. The old brush is a little thicker, as well as being more fluffy. This, in my opinion, changes the brush quite a bit. The fluffier brush can spread out the color more easily, but the thinner brush is better at applying to a single target area.

Overall, I think that e.l.f. has done more than just tweak their Professional Eye Shadow Brush. The new brush is completely different from the old one. Overall, I definitely prefer the old one, because I feel like it was just better overall at applying eye shadow. Looks like I'm going to have to find some glue, because I'd rather use my old brush.

I can't say much for the blending brush, but I did notice that it was marked as new, and the bristles feel the same as the new Professional Eye Shadow Brush, so there might have been other changes made as well. I'd also assume, that since these two were changed, the other brushes in the Professional line might have been changed as well, so I'd definitely watch out for that.

In my opinion, if you can find e.l.f.'s old Professional Eye Shadow brush in stores, I'd suggest you pick it up and pick up some backups, because I'm not sure how much longer they might be on shelves... if they still even are.
