About Hawthorne Heights: I don't really know a ton about them, but there are some important things I should talk about. They released their first CD, The Silence In Black and White, in 2004. Their first single off of this CD is also probably their most well-known song, Ohio Is For Lovers. Then, in 2006, they released If Only You Were Lonely. Their third album, Fragile Future, was released in 2008. These are the only 3 CDs I have by them, although they have released 2 CDs since- Skeletons in 2010, and Zero last month. There was a very abrupt lineup change between albums 2 &3, which I'll talk about in the "About The CD" bit, because it had an impact on the CD.

My opinion about Hawthorne Heights: I’m not a huge Hawthorne Heights fan, although I have 3 of their CDs. It’s kinda odd, but the bands that are more mainstream, as in regular people who listen to top 40 stations (bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco) often aren’t ones I like A LOT. While I may enjoy their music, I’m usually not a devoted fan. I think I may have mentioned this in a previous post. It’s like this with Hawthorne Heights. While I like this CD and a lot of the songs on it, I only really like their singles on their other CDs.

About The CD: One thing that had a big effect on this CD was the sudden death of band member Casey Calvert. Casey did the guitar and unclean vocals for the band. While they were on tour in 2007, he was found dead in the tour bus. He died in his sleep of an accidental drug overdose. Two songs on the CD (Four Became One, Sugar In The Engine) were inspired by his death, and it brought the band closer together, and lead to this being, in my opinion, their best CD.

IMHO: This is my favorite CD by them. But it also holds a special place in my heart for another reason. I bought this CD back in 2009 when it was fairly new. When I opened the case, I realized that there was a second CD inside. This CD had a random selection of music videos by other artists on Victory Records (the label HH was on). I was really interested in listening to some new music, so I popped it into my DVD player. I really liked a lot of the songs, and still have a lot of them on my iPod now. These included “I Didn’t Mean To Interrupt…” by Jamies Elsewhere, a “Since U Been Gone” cover by A Day To Remember, “Still Dreaming” by Silverstein, and some songs by a band named 1997, a band that I never researched much further… but the songs on the CD are great! Anyway, among these songs, I found the music video for a song called “Warm Me Up” by The Audition. I had never heard of The Audition, but I really liked this song. The Audition is now one of my top 5 favorite bands ever, and I never would have found them without this CD.

Favorite Songs: Somewhere In Between is definitely my favorite song on the CD.

Other Gems: Sugar In The Engine, Desperation, Four Became One, 321

Video!
Music Video for Somewhere In Between
Four Became One
Rating: 7.5/10. There are a lot of songs on the CD that I really like, and the rest I just never really listen to.

Whodunnit? Episode 3: Kaboom

First off, sorry about how late this is. I was travelling and didn't have internet, or the ability to watch this more than once. So finally, here it is!

We start off where we left off, with Adrianna being killed in the explosion. Everyone seems excited that Adrianna is the one who is killed, and not Dana. Before splitting up to go to the different places, I can already see cracks in the “cool kids” group. Lindsey seems to think that Kam is being bossy.

At the crime scene: There is a huge sunburst of an explosion around the cart. There is a tree branch across the road, forcing Adrianna to go into the grass. They see a cut on the plastic of the seat. Ronnie sees a video camera, as the other two try to figure if the bomb was on the cart. Ronnie finds that the camera seems to be messed with/ broken.

At the last known whereabouts: there's a broken bowl of cereal, and the TV on. Suddenly we see Adrianna on the screen as if on a surveillance video, and then it flickers to a screen that says "drive off the property if you want to live". There are footprints on some doors. They try all the doors and realized that they are all locked, forcing Adrianna out the outside doors.

At the morgue: They don't get a ton of info. Don thinks that it was a big charge, because she's high in the tree. She's holding something like a remote, but they can't quite tell the purpose of it. Her face and hands are not burnt, but her legs are, meaning that the bomb was probably at her feet.

Ronnie and the non- cool kids form an alliance, while the cool kids discuss the details of the different areas that they went to. Ulysses mentions the fact that the game has changed a bit. Melina is told to be buddy buddy with Lindsey so that Kam and Ulysses won’t trust her. Melina, Lindsey, and Ronnie seem to have some sort of alliance. Geno points out that people that Kam and Ulysses have had pacts with are now dead. Too many crazy alliances and complications!

Riddle time! Giles says that the killer has left them an important message… a BOMB. The bomb fizzles out and is full of golf balls. They each get a golf ball that says 13 steps. There are monitors left on tables all over the house. Sasha realizes that if Adrianna ran outside, she would have to go down some steps. Sasha runs down the steps outside and finds a golf cart and a clue, that says that the click of a button killed Adrianna. The clue causes them to find a trash can full of video tapes. Everyone runs to grab a ton of them to play them. Ronnie, thinking about how the previous clue says not to "get played", looks for other ways that the tape could be a clue. He opens the top flap and finds a clue inside the tape about hot air rising. Dana is still guarding the TVs in the dining room, thinking they're important. Ronnie suddenly runs to the attic. As soon as he gets through the door, the bell dings, signalling that someone has found the solution. Ronnie is the ONLY one allowed to see the full solution to the riddle, meaning he can share it however he pleases. He sits down and watches the tv. He is told to press the bomb button, and watches as the golf cart blows up. I'm not sure this really gives us that much information. We already knew she was blown up. I guess the only thing that this shows us is that the clicker was not connected to the bomb in any way.

Ronnie and Geno go off by themselves to try to put the clues together, and all the other people are very stressed out. There’s a whole back and forth with Lindsey and what group she’s in, before they accuse people. When they sit down to dinner, and Ronnie tells them all about the video. He says that he saw her die, but what we saw on the screen was just a golf cart sitting and then getting blown up. So was there something else on the video that we didn’t see?

Giles comes in and tells the contestants that Lindsey has blown the killer away. Now everyone is gonna hate her for playing both sides. Lindsey is also given a note about her laugh. Suspicious?
Killer placed all the items necessary to go through with the murder. Adrianna watched TV in the breakfast room. The TV switched to footage of her and then a note to run if she wanted to live. She ran outside down the stairs to the golf cart, where the bomb was left. She drove around the branch, and stopped and tried to use the clicker to leave, but the killer was watching and blew her up.

It's time for the rest of the contestants to discover their fate. Tonight, Dana and Don are scared. The contestants are told that they are going to have a fancy breakfast in the morning, and no one is excited, and half of them are curious how to dress.

The next morning comes, and everyone except for Dana and Don sit down to eat. Dana comes in and everyone notes that she looks different, which I noted as well. At this point, I was actually curious if that little note was actually something key about her impending death. Suddenly, Don walks in as well, stunning all of the guests. They go to eat their food, but Don and Dana both have raw steaks. Giles offers them the opportunity to go and heat up their food. Dana says she'll share with Ulysses, but Don says he'll go, even though everyone shouts at him not to. As he's in the kitchen, we see a panther released into the kitchen, seemingly slashing him apart.

OK, suspicions time!

Cris: She's mostly flying under the radar right now. Sure, she's team cool kids, but whenever someone hates on the cool kids, it's Ulysses and Kam. And even though she's flying under the radar, people have suspected her. Suspicious!

Dana: She seems to just always be barking up the wrong tree and then somehow survives. It makes NO sense. And the fact that she survived instead of Don just makes me even MORE suspicious.

Don: I'm really sad to see him go. I like him way more than Dana, but at this point, I suspect Dana pretty strongly, so I guess it makes sense that he was the one to go.

Geno: I still don't trust him. Ronnie had all the info, he put it together with Geno, and yet he didn't win. Uh... what? And it seems like Ronnie and Geno are working together quite a bit. Hmmmm...

Kam: I still really like Kam. And I really hope he isn't the killer. I'm pretty sure that if he were the killer, he wouldn't go all out making people hate him.

Lindsey: Honestly, she's one of my main suspects. I just don't trust her. She seems fake, and how insanely coincidental is it that on the episode where the whole drama has been about what side she's on... Lindsey wins? Way too coincidental to be a coincidence, if you ask me.
Melina:  As I said last week... She still seems like a really genuine and trustworthy person... kinda. She seems to get emotional about EVERYTHING. She cries constantly. I think that seems really suspicious. If she's the killer, she's doing a great "naive" act, but I'm just not sure if it's real yet.

Ronnie: I still think that he's the least likely to be the killer. I fully trust him, and I think he's going to do well. He's one of my favorites.

Sasha: I still don't like her. I'm not sure if she's the killer or not, but if she's not, I want her to be dead ASAP.

Ulysses: I still think that I can trust him. He and Kam are my favorites, and I don't think he's the killer. So far, I'm hoping that he continues to do well.

OK, now for something that I was insanely curious about when I finished the episode... Did they leave the murder up to chance? Or was it always going to be Don? Because I feel like there are only 2 possibilities in this situation. #1- Don was told that he was going to die, and was instructed to take Giles' suggestion. #2- the murder was all planned out, but whoever decided to go heat up their food was the one who got killed. I don't think they'd leave it up to chance like that, but it seemed like an intriguing idea.

Well, that's the end of my review. I'm really excited about next week and can't wait til then. See you next week, mortals!

Whodunnit? Episode 2: Fire Starter

Welcome to episode 2, mortals! In my excitement about this show, I watched season 1 of The Mole this week. For those of you who don't know what The Mole is, I'll explain a bit about it before diving into Dontae's Inferno. It's a lot like Whodunnit? in the fact that among the contestants is a traitor. In The Mole, the contestants compete to win money for the group, which one person will win at the end of the competition. Among these contestants is "The Mole", a person paid by the show to secretly sabotage the group and keep them from winning money. At the end of each episode, the contestants would take a test where they were asked questions about who The Mole is. The person who did the worst on the test would be eliminated. I'd been told that it's a lot like Whodunnit? and in most cases, I agree. But at the end I'll talk about some comparisons and why the format for The Mole is a bit better, in my opinion.
For now, I'll walk you through the show a bit. I will caution you with a *SPOILER ALERT* because I'm about to talk about the deaths. So if you haven't seen the show and don't want to know who dies, stop reading.

We start off where we ended last episode, with everyone being awakened by the alarm, and Dontae running out of the house on fire and plunging into the pool. Everyone is very visibly shaken, and I really can't fault them for that. Clearly, they know he isn't actually going to die, but seeing someone fully on fire can leave a person extremely shaken. They gather in the foyer and Giles announces that Dontae is dead. He then says that they are all in this together and shows the contestants that he is wearing an ankle monitor, implying that he cannot leave the house. It bothers me that this was mostly skimmed over. We don't know why he has that or how he got it. He just can't leave the house. I almost feel like this is also important for later in the episode.

The contestants again are allowed to search one area: The crime scene, the last known whereabouts, and the morgue. I'm not sure how accurate this is, since the scene of the crime and the last known whereabouts are really BOTH his bedroom, but I'm not going to complain, since both places seem to have important clues. We first get to see the last known whereabouts. They discover a burst of soot around the door, and they see that Dontae was given a jewelry box, with a note about a necklace and Saint Agatha's protection. The necklace is nowhere to be found, and they assume it will be discovered at the crime scene. They think the lamp might have started the fire, and notice that the rug is untouched. I feel like I'm already a bit ahead of the contestants, because I think that it's obvious that he caught on fire upon touching the doorknob. That's where the burst came from!

At the scene of the crime, they fish out some socks and notice that he was wearing different socks, and that they aren't extremely burnt, indicating that the fire started higher in the body. They then find a chain with a medallion that seems to match the Saint Agatha box. They also find plaid material, which they assume to be from pajamas, which once again, are different from the pajamas they're wearing. Adrianna sees some lock gone from the door and seems to think it's significant, just as she did last week with the trunk corner, which turned out to be irrelevant.

Down in the morgue, Don says to look for the place where the fire started, which will be the hottest, most burnt part of the body. The two places they immediately see are the right arm, and a spot on the chest. Their first assumption is that it started in his torso, and he tried to protect himself with his arm. I completely disagree, because his arm looks even more charred to a crisp. I'm sure it had to start there when he touched the doorknob. They then notice that he's wearing plaid pajamas, which are totally different from the "estate pajamas" that the living are all wearing. The night before, at dinner, Giles had mentioned that they should all wear the estate pajamas for the pajama brunch in the morning. Clearly, Dontae assumed that these were the correct pajamas. Everyone begins to realize that there must be something important about these pajamas and that they were meant for Dontae, and only Dontae. There must be something on them that helped to trigger the fire.

Time for the pajama brunch, and the sharing of information! Everyone huddles with the people who were with them at the different locations, and they decide what information to share, and what information to keep to themselves. The people at the last known whereabouts decide to give people the wrong name in hopes of figuring out if someone at the scene of the crime or morgue finds the necklace. The crime scene people decide to not tell people about the chain, because they think it's significant. Kam decides that Lindsey needs to be the third in his and Ulysses' alliance, and Ulysses seems a touch hesitant, but trusts Kam. Lindsey seems ok with this, because she's failed to get accurate information so far. Melina talks to some people about Saint Augustine, and immediately Sasha knows that something is going on, because the medallion said Saint Agatha. Adrianna is doing a terrible job of keeping the necklace a secret, because when Ronnie mentions it, he can tell that she knows about the necklace. Melina decides to tell Sasha about the necklace, and tells her the correct name... but apparently cannot pronounce Agatha. Geno can't even remember the correct name and accidentally told Ulysses the correct name while talking to him.

Time for another riddle! And another bad pun (Giles had to flag the contestants down... with the huge flag.) Each contestant gets a small flag, and have to solve the riddle on the back of the big flag. They are told to find fire in liquid form, and are told to look above the cycle and that dragging their feet could be the death of them. Ronnie goes to the barbecue and starts looking for liquid fire, since the biCYCLES are next to them. Makes sense... but isn't correct. Adrianna searches fireplaces. She and Lindsey try to see if turning on the fire does anything. Melina looks for the laundry room because they have cycles. Melina finds a bottle of benzene above the washer (highly flamable, makes sense) and it has a message on it saying to spray it on her flag and "find the same". It also says it is time to drag their feet, because those who die cannot compete. when she, Kam, Cris, Dana, and Ulysses spray their flags, a pink stripe appears on the back. Lindsey and Adrianna are still trying to light a fire, and Don and Ronnie are still barking up the wrong tree as well. Cris and Kam realize that they need to be looking for the crest with a pink stripe in the middle. Kam knows he's seen it somewhere upstairs. He finds it on a door, and when he tries to open it, he gets a nasty shock, and the crest catches on fire. Kam, Ulysses, and Cris are the only ones to be there to get the full story. The three of them join with Lindsey. Kam wants Cris to be part of them, because she seems to be a good ally.

While the four of them are talking, multiple people try to talk to them. First, Sasha goes over, trying to talk to Kam. He asks for her to give him a second, but she is persistent and takes forever to actually leave. Dana is convinced that Ulysses will tell her, because of a pact they made in the first episode while down in the morgue. Next, Adrianna barges over, saying she wants to be included, and Kam has to be the bad guy and be rude until she leaves. Dana and Sasha seem to think that their method of breaking up the group is a good one and that they need to keep trying to talk to everyone, but Melina thinks this isn't a good idea. Even when Melina tries to talk to Ronnie, Dana barges in frantically. She then goes outside and yells across the yard at Ulysses, who once again asks for her to wait for a minute. In the end, she never gets information from Ulysses. I hope this shows her that she can't just depend on other people to succeed in this show.

Geno and Ronnie seem to be using their brains (rather than other people) to figure out what is going on. They seem completely sure that they have the correct story, and I have to agree with them, as well as commend them for trying to figure out the evidence that they have rather than trying to get other people to talk to them over and over. I mean, if insanity simply doing the same thing multiple times and expecting different results, then we have some crazies in this house!

It's now time for them to state their cases. Kris, Adrianna, Ulysses, Kam, and Geno are all accused. They seem to all have the general gist of this one, because it is, in my opinion, a lot easier to figure out than the one last week. It's in the details this time, so they really have to have their details straight to figure this one out. At dinner, there's a pretty big argument, and I may get some flack for this, I'm really on Kam and Ulysses' side. The others were being really obnoxious, and they kept interrupting a conversation that clearly was intended to be private. And they never took the hint that they weren't going to get any information from Kam and Ulysses. So it's really their own fault. They had Ronnie and Geno at their disposal, who figured it out on their own, and the others could have done the same.

Giles comes in and announces that Ulysses is ON FIRE, and has correctly solved the murder. He then tells them how the crime was committed. The murderer left Dontae benzene soaked pajamas and socks, as well as the necklace that was supposed to protect him. Dontae found all of these, put them on, and went to sleep. The murderer set off the fire alarm, and Dontae jumped out of bed, gathered up static electricity by running across the shag rug, and what normally would've been a static shock turned into a blazing fire. He ran downstairs and dove into the pool, and his socks and necklace fell off.

It seems like the only point to the necklace was to confuse the contestants, and it did for a bit, because the people in the morgue initially thought that the fire started in the torso, when really the fire just heated the necklace up, causing Dontae to be more severely burned there. The same seems to go for the pajamas- Dontae could've easily been wearing the same pajamas and socks, which had been soaked in benzene, but different ones were used, clearly so that the contestants would notice something was different about them. Or you could make the argument that the killer just didn't want to mix them up with anyone else's.

The contestants receive their spared/scared cards. Dana gets the first scared card, and she starts crying. She says that she's used to being successful at everything, and it's hard for her to fail. I'm sorry, but I hate when people have this attitude. You can't be good at everything in life, and you can't just break down when you fail at something, and you CAN'T just expect that you're going to be everything. No high horse here, please! And I can tell that Ulysses does seem genuinely sorry for Dana, because he knows he could have helped her. Adrianna gets the second scared card, and everyone else is spared. Dana is convinced that Adrianna is the killer, and is therefore convinced that it's her. Adrianna seems resigned to whatever fate comes for her.

Time skips forward to 7:13 AM. *SPOILER ALERT* We see Adrianna drop some cereal and run out a door. She runs across the lawn to a golf cart, and speeds away, looking behind her as if someone is chasing her. The cart stops and suddenly there is a huge explosion, and Adrianna blasts into the air. In the promo for next week, it is confirmed that she is dead, and the contestants all run out upon seeing/hearing the explosion. It seems that the killer has left them a message in the form of a bomb. It seems like more strategy is coming into play, and that it's a bit of an "us" and "them" mentality with Kam, Ulysses, Lindsey, and Cris vs. Sasha and Dana, and maybe even Melina and the others. It also seems as though there is a discovery in a room, as we see Giles entering a room with a gun and pointing it at something. So it seems like we're in for an interesting and dramatic. Also, in a commercial that I literally just saw a minute ago, it looks like some sort of panther was set loose in the house, so that must be what Giles was pointing a gun at.

Okay, time for me to give you a bit of an update on what I think about each person! One thing I've noticed is that I'm A LOT more suspicious of the women than the men. So I definitely suspect all of the women more than pretty much ANY of the men.

Adrianna: I had decided that she probably wasn't the killer even before she got killed, but I REALLY wanted her to be the killer, because she's really the only one that I don't like at all.

Cris: I'm fairly suspicious of her. She doesn't seem to have the personality that would accompany a beauty queen. And she seems to be really flying under the radar. Those are really the only reasons I'm suspicious of her, though.

Dana: She wasted A LOT of time during the time between the riddle and the accusations. They could've been trying to figure something out, but instead, she insisted she would get information. I don't trust her at all.

Don: I still haven't seen any reason to not trust him. I think he seems like a genuine guy. And the poor guy keeps having to get important information from other people.

Geno: I still don't trust him. I appreciate that he and Ronnie figured it out on their own, but he seems to be keeping to himself so much and that just doesn't work in this game... unless you're the killer!

Kam: Kam is one of my favorites. I think I trust him more than I did before. I'm still a little suspicious of him, but I don't think he's the killer.

Lindsey: I'm still very suspicious of her. She and Dontae didn't see the last clue last week. He died, yet she was spared?! I'm not sure it was a good idea for Ulysses and Kam to bring her into their alliance.
Melina: She still seems like a really genuine and trustworthy person...

Sasha: Last episode, I liked her, but the more I see of her, the less I like her. She had such an attitude when trying to get Kam to talk to her. She's just getting on my nerves, and I'm not sure I trust her.

Ulysses: I still think that I can trust him. He and Kam are my favorites, and I don't think he's the killer. So far, I'm hoping that he continues to do well.

OK, now for the show comparisons. There's one key factor where I think The Mole was better as far as formatting. In The Mole, the contestants' key important role was to figure out who The Mole is, and if they did a poor job at that, then they got eliminated. On Whodunnit? it seems like figuring out the killer is the LEAST of their concerns. Figuring out the murder is most important. And I'm not sure how good that is, as far as formatting. I mean, how are you going to know who to trust if you're not really trying to figure out who the murderer is?! At this point, it almost seems like NONE of them are the killer, because everyone seems to be focused almost entirely on discovering how the murder was committed, rather than... wait for it... Whodunnit?! I'm not sure that's a great way to go about things.

I also discovered, through listening to a podcast (Rob Has A Podcast, for anyone who wants to check it out. I'd highly recommend it. I enjoy listening to them discuss the show, and I get more info, as well.) that there is a component much like The Mole, which we don't actually see. The contestants take a test about the murderer, the crime, etc. separate from their accusations that we see on video. I think this is a very good thing, because when people describe things, you can't really concretely say that one person was the absolute least accurate, because everyone is going to say too much or too little in different areas. And who's to say whether saying something incorrect is worse than leaving a detail out? The test is much more concrete and can be definitively scored to give a clear death. So, that's an important component that we just don't see.

Another thing I heard on the podcast that I found really interesting was that in the middle of the night, when Dontae was killed, Dana and Sasha both had red ribbons in their hair, and the same ribbon was on the pajamas that Dontae received. Now, they all might have had those same ribbons on their pajamas as well, and had the same idea about tying their hair with the ribbon, but it seems suspicious. Is it possible that the killer has an accomplice? Like it's Sasha and Dana is her accomplice? Or it's Dana and Sasha is her accomplice? That might make sense. If a killer takes a liking to someone, would it be that ridiculous for them to feed information to that person so that they succeed?

Well, that's the end of my review. I'm really excited about next week and can't wait til then. See you next week, mortals!

About Busted: This British band was formed in 2001, and originally included Tom Fletcher, who went on to become the first founding member of McFly, which as I have mentioned in a previous post, is my absolute favorite band. Busted broke up in 2005, but in that time, they released 2 studio albums and one live album. They were the original writers and performers of the Jonas Brothers' songs "Year 3000" and "What I Go To School For," although the versions of those songs that were performed by the Jo Bros were edited to be suitable for Disney.

My Opinion about Busted: Definitely a top 10 favorite band. I love these guys so much.  I love that all 3 guys sing, and yet  aren't a boyband, because they do pop rock and all play instruments. They had to have more people play with them on stage because they couldn't play ALL the instruments at the same time (and really, I'm not sure Charlie could sing and play drums at the same time). Charlie and James are my favorites. Charlie is my favorite voice- he's the youngest but also had the deepest voice. I also enjoy the music he did after Busted as well. He's the lead singer of a post-hardcore band named Fightstar, which is currently on hiatus. Right now, he actually has released a solo album and has another in the works and is currently in America on Warped Tour (Which I really wish I could see...). Also, he's apparently at least 6 foot 6 now, and still just as attractive as ever. I love James because of his close work with McFly, especially on their first album, as well as his close friendship with McFly, AND his music after Busted. He was briefly in a band named Son of Dork, which will pop up on here at some point. They had only one CD, released in 2005, but I have it and really love it. James was the founding member, and one of two singers, but the band kinda fell apart in 2007. He's gone on to do solo stuff, and has recently been working with McFly some as well.

About the CD:  I only own this CD and *part* of their debut cd, because a bunch of the songs from their debut were repeated onto A Present For Everyone, so I bought this one and bought the six songs on the other CD that weren't repeated onto this one. So, this CD was part new stuff, part repeat from "Busted". Don't go looking for "Busted" on iTunes. I looked it up the other day, and it's not on there anymore for some reason. But, when they were both on there, they actually had almost the exact same cover art. I tried figuring out how best to describe it, but it's best to just show you a picture, which is below. The funny thing is that BOTH albums have different album art in the UK. Those pictures are below as well. I personally like both of the UK covers better than the US ones.

US cover of "Busted" which is nearly identical to US version of "A Present For Everyone"

UK cover for "Busted" L-R: Matt, Charlie, James

UK cover of "A Present For Everyone". Charlie @ top, Matt L, James R.

IMHO: I really love the CD. My only complaint is that of the 6 songs that I had to purchase from their debut CD, most of them are among my all-time favorite Busted songs. So they could've done a better job in that respect. But I really do like almost all of the songs on here.

Favorite songs: She Wants To Be Me and Meet You There are my two favorites, but the ones under "Other gems" are also crazy amazing as well. She Wants To Be Me is just ridiculously funny, and Meet You There has great harmony.

Other gems: Air Hostess, Who's David?, That Thing You Do, Loner In Love, Nerdy. The rest are really good as well, but these are just the best.

Meet You There
Rating: 9/10. I really love this CD. The only thing that would make it better would be to have some of the songs from "Busted" on this CD. Otherwise, it's really awesome!

Hope you liked my newest "The CDs on my Shelf" post! What did you think? Want to know more information about the CD? Less? or just different info? Whodunnit? Killer update!

I have a little update that I found from the killer on twitter. Apparently, there was a clue as to the killer's identity during the champagne meeting at the beginning of the episode.

I watched that part over and over, and I'm almost convinced that this clue occurred immediately after Sheri dropped her champagne glass. Unless, of course, it's an extremely subtle clue that no one will understand until the killer is revealed. Here are my theories:

#1: After Sheri drops her glass, everyone is chattering loudly and laughing and joking about her dropping it. I feel like something might have been said that was a subtle hint. And I really couldn't make out much except for Don kinda heckling her about dropping it. This, of course, may be it. What if Don is the killer and him jokingly heckling her is the clue? An interesting idea...

#2: It's something much more subtle that something someone said or did, that really won't become clear until we actually know who the killer is. I'm not going to try to analyze this, because I clearly won't figure it out until much later.

#3: Possibly some visual in the background? I heard some people say that there was some Greek reference, which would point to Ulysses, but I really just don't know. Again, this wouldn't become clear until long after the fact.

So, those are my brief little theories. What do you think? Let me know in the comments what you think of my theories, as well as WHO you think the killer is! Hope you enjoyed this!

Green Day- Nimrod

Well, I'm giving you a brief little behind the scenes snippet right now. When I started writing this blog, I gave myself a rule that if an album came up that I didn't want to talk about so much, I wouldn't skip it, because I'm going to have to write about it at some point. So, even though I wasn't sure about this one, I'm writing it anyway! So here we go!!!

Billie Joe Armstrong- lead vocals, guitars, piano, harmonica
Mike Dirnt- bass guitar, backing vocals
Tre Cool- drums, percussion, backing vocals
(Jason White, touring guitarist, was added to the official lineup in 2012, but this has been the only lineup change since Tre Cool joined in 1990. John Kiffmeyer did percussion until 1990)

Green Day, L-R: Mike, Billie Joe, Tre. But you already knew that, right?

About Green Day: I'm sure I don't have to tell you too much about Green Day, since they're pretty famous. They have released 11 studio albums to date. And that's not even including compilations and live CDs. They've sold millions and millions of CDs. Fun fact that you may not know: Dookie, their first big success, has actually sold 10 million copies in the US, while American Idiot, which is often considered to be their most well known and successful album, has only sold 6 million in the US!

My Opinion about Green Day: Although I do really like Green Day, they definitely don't fall among my top 10 bands. I've found that of all the bands I like, the ones that are super commercially successful (like Green Day, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, and Panic! At The Disco), while I do really like those bands, they're almost never the ones that end up as my absolute favorites. IDK if I subconsciously like really popular bands less, or if the ones that are popular only among alternative fans just make better music.

About the CD:  It's gone double platinum in the US, which is more than most of the CDs On My Shelf can say... with the exception of other Green Day albums, and a couple other scattered ones.

IMHO: It's definitely not my favorite Green Day CD. I don't listen to it a lot, and am not familiar with a lot of the songs on it, hence why I was a bit hesitant to talk about it. I don't want to come off as a fake Green Day fan, because I'm not. I just haven't listened to EVERYTHING. I'm a big fan of American Idiot. I love Dookie, the singles off of Insomniac & Nimrod, Warning, and most of 21st Century Breakdown. I own almost all of their CDs, but I'm just not a superfan. And this CD just wasn't as good, IMHO.

Favorite songs: Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) is definitely my favorite. I tried to convince my mom to allow me to use it for my graduation slideshow at church last year, but that got vetoed (I ended up using Time Of My Life by David Cook). I like the acoustic, chill side of Green Day. And I'm a sucker for strings, cause I play in an orchestra.

Other gems: Nice Guys Finish Last and Hitchin' A Ride. And I didn't even know that they were singles until recently. Honestly, I know all of the songs on the album are good, because I've listened to all of them, I just haven't gotten to the stage where I can distinguish them.

Rating: 5/10. Definitely not my favorite Green Day CD. But it's Green Day, so it's at least good enough to get 5/10 just by being by Green Day.

Hope you liked my newest "The CDs on my Shelf" post! What did you think? Want to know more information about the CD? Less? or just different info? Or is what I put good? You were just waiting for Green Day to pop up, weren't you? I'm sure my previous posts made me seem like I would listen to GD. Let me know all of this in the comments. Whodunnit? PREMIERE!

So, my plan was to not post on this blog anymore... but I don't think that's going to happen, at least not right now. I think that this blog is going to end up just being me kinda just reviewing things, and not JUST Project Runway. I'm also gonna take a second to promo my blog, The CD's On My Shelf, where each post is about a random CD on my shelf. Click HERE to check it out!

OK, on to the main event. I was really excited to see this show, because it seemed like Clue meets And Then There Were None. And that's exactly what the show gave me! I expected it to be really cheesy, but they really kept the cheese to a minimum, although it wasn't entirely left out. I'll talk about my suspicions later, but for now, I'll just walk you through the show a bit. I will caution you with a *SPOILER ALERT* because I'm about to talk about the first death.

The contestants all meet each other and mingle a bit. They all know that they are going to compete in some sort of mystery competition, but have no details. Giles, the butler, introduces himself, and tells them that when the bell rings at half past the hour, they will all re-convene and the contestants will learn what the game is. For now, they are shown to their rooms and are allowed to explore a bit. Suddenly, they all hear a crash, and run into the living room to find the large fish tank broken, and Sheri lying beside it in a pool of water, being electrocuted from frayed lamp cords. (Quick note, in case you're unaware, this is NOT real. The people do not actually die, and the crimes are just staged to appear that they have). Giles runs in and shuffles them into another room and explains that a killer is among the contestants, pretending to be one of them, and that one by one they will die, and the remaining contestants will have to solve the mystery. The contestants will then get the opportunity to investigate either the scene of the crime, the morgue, or the person's last known whereabouts.

They break up into fairly even groups for each place. The 3 who go to the morgue discover an old-fashioned bullet in the back of Sheri's neck. The 5 at the scene of the crime discover that the fish tank's front side was the one that shattered first, and see a large round bloodstain on the rug. The 4 at the last known whereabouts, Sheri's bedroom and bathroom, discover a message written on the mirror in the bathroom (written so that it can be seen with steam, but disappears when the mirror clears). The message tells Sheri to go to the fish tank because the person had vital information for her. This is the part I found the cheesiest, since it's an old trick and no one would ever really fall for it.

The contestants all regroup to share information, and tensions begin to surface. After their lunch, they have another challenge to discover more information. They're each given a key. They notice the 13:17 on it, and start looking at clocks. Lindsey goes for the bible. They think they find the correct verse, and go searching, but Ronnie then notices the 2 crowns on the other side of the key, and looks for 2nd Kings 13:17, which gives them a clue about the east window. Ronnie looks out the window and sees that a panel is missing and that there's a plastic chest outside. When they run and unlock it, they find a crowbar and a slingshot inside. However, not everyone is there to see this, and the contestants who see it keep it to themselves.

It's now time for the contestants to go and make their predictions as to what happened, and who the killer is. They go into a room by themselves and talk to a camera, explaining how they think the murder happened, and who did it. Afterward, they all sit down to dinner, and Jiles comes in to deliver their fate. Sasha is told that she came closest to discovering the correct answer, which is this: The murderer snuck into Sheri's room while she was showering and wrote the message on the mirror. Upon getting out of the shower, Sheri saw the message, put on a robe, and ran downstairs. The murderer was outside, having taken out the window panel already. The murderer shoots the bullet into Sheri's neck with the slingshot, and it hits her spinal cord, killing her instantly. As she falls, her head hits the fish tank, cracking it. As the pressure builds up, the murderer stashes the slingshot and the crow bar used to break into her room, and then returns to his or her room, or whatever location they were "exploring". The pressure inside the fish tank finally causes the glass to shatter, making everyone run to see what has happened.

Many contestants are now worried that they will be the next to be killed, because being the most incorrect and being eliminated from the competition means being the next person to "die". The contestants are now all told their fate by opening envelopes. The card inside says either spared or scared. Only Don and Dontae receive scared cards, meaning that they are the bottom two and did the worst at solving the mystery. The guests all go to bed. They are awakened at around 4:30 AM to the sound of the mansion's alarms blaring. They all run outside and Jiles does a head count. *SPOILER ALERT* They discover that Dontae is the one who is missing. Suddenly, Dontae runs out of the house, his pajamas on fire! He jumps into the pool, but it is too late, as his body is seen floating 'lifeless' in the pool, and the promo for next week confirms that he is, in fact, 'dead'.

Okay, time for me to get into the contestants and what I think about them!

First off, a general note about the contestants in general: I'm definitely more suspicious of the ones whose jobs are not related at all to crime/ police/ investigating/etc. It makes sense to me that Adrianna, Don, Dana, Dontae, Kam, Ronnie, Sasha, and Ulysses are there. The others, I'm not so sure about. I feel like since some contestants are telling us that they're hiding the fact that they work in crime (like Don, Dontae, and Ronnie), that those who DON'T claim to work in that field may be hiding something too.

Adrianna: Like many of the contestants, I don't like her. And I want her to be the killer. But my gut tells me she's not. I think that if she was the killer, she wouldn't have tried running things from the get-go, or shoved herself into conversations. The killer would be more subtle. Unless she knew someone would think that. However, the fact that she was convinced that the corner of that chest was involved, and convinced that Dontae was the killer, and that both were wrong... that's kinda suspicious.

Cris: I'm not sure what to think of her. I'm automatically more suspicious of her because her because she's an ex-beauty queen. Ex? What does she do now? I guess she gains a bit more credibility since her dad was a cop.

Dana: The fact that she's a cardiac nurse gives her a bit more credibility for me, but I'm just not sure yet whether I trust her.

Don: For me, the fact that he's hiding that he's an ex-cop makes him seem more credible and causes me to trust him more. I think he's definitely not the killer, but who knows, I may be totally wrong!

Geno: I don't know why, but I just don't trust him. It seems a bit suspicious to me that he would push away the alliance that Kam and Ulysses offer. It seems like he's trying to do it all on his own, and so far, that seems like a stupid thing to do... unless you're the killer.

Kam: I really like Kam! But he's also one of the ones I'm most suspicious of. The fact that he immediately jumps to ally with someone suggests that maybe he knows that everyone else is trustworthy. Or, that he just thinks quickly, which seems more likely. But it may be part of the act for the killer to come off really likable!

Lindsey: I'm actually pretty suspicious of Lindsey! My main suspicion is because of the key challenge. She didn't think of the bible until after everyone had thoroughly investigated the clocks, and other things. I know a lot of preachers' kids, and whether they believe the same as their parents or not, that bible is going to be their first thought, WAY before checking a clock.
Melina: She seems like a really genuine and trustworthy person. Her reactions to things seemed really legit, but it could just be really good acting. My only suspicions come from how entirely convinced she was that Don was a cop, even before he used a lot of cop lingo. Most people would just drop it after a while, but she's convinced even though he failed epicly!

Ronnie: IMO, one of the most trustworthy in the competition. I'm almost 100% sure he's not the killer. But he has good analytical skills and I definitely think he's going to go far.

Sasha: I'm not sure what to think of Sasha. At first, she didn't believe Dana about the bullet, but then later, she includes it and gets closest to what actually happened? I'm not so sure about that. But if she's not the killer, she's definitely a good ally to have.

Ulysses: I'm not sure what to think of him. I think I trust him, but is there really any way of being sure? As of right now, he's high on the list of people I like, and low on suspicion. But I really don't know. And seriously, who names their child Ulysses?

The other suspicions: I've seen Clue way too many times and read And Then There Were None way too many times to just believe that everything is as it seems. I still think that it's very possible that we have an And Then There Were None situation, where a death is a red herring, and someone who dies is actually the murderer, and the last two alive each think the other is the murderer. I also think it's very possible that we have a Clue/ every other mystery ending, where the butler did it. I'm not sure how much I trust Giles!
That's it for this episode! Hope you enjoyed my review. Let me know what you thought of the show, the people, and my suspicions. See you next week, mortals!
