What Did (And Didn't) Help Clear My Acne!

Hey, y'all! Today, I'm going to be talking about something that has always been one of my biggest insecurities.

Acne.

I was that unfortunate kid who had really bad skin. My face never got this bad:

BUT from age 12 through now, not a single day has gone by where I didn't have several pimples/blemishes all over my face, neck, shoulders, and back. Not only is my skin really oily and acne prone, but it's also very sensitive, and has a tendency of getting over-dried quickly and easily. And on top of that, my skin has a horrible reaction to Salicylic Acid, which is the active ingredient in most acne treatments. So basically, I have the most frustrating skin ever.

Throughout the years, I've gone through many different acne treatments, trying to find one that worked and didn't leave my face flaking off. Also, I've probably forgotten several products I've tried, only because I've tried SO MANY. So, if you're like me and have acne prone, yet sensitive skin, listen up!

First off, let's talk about the acne treatment that we all constantly have shoved in our faces in commercials.
Let's get this out of the way now. If you have sensitive skin, this is NOT for you. The cleanser, toner, and lotion all have active ingredients for knocking out acne. The cleanser and lotion both have Benzoyl Peroxide, and the toner has salicylic acid. That's way too powerful for sensitive skin. I've found that if I'm going to use powerful acne treatment, I at least need to counter-balance it with moisturizer. And the lotion and toner still have active acne-treating ingredients. It just wasn't right for me. I'm not at all saying that it doesn't work, because it does work, it just wasn't the right thing for my skin. I also didn't like that I couldn't choose when I got more. I always had plenty of product left when I got a new batch. I will say, though, that I used it back in 2007 before they had this "new formula," so their new formula may be better. I do still have a bottle of the Repairing Lotion, and when I use just that solely on acne, it works great without over-drying my skin.

After I finished with Proactiv, I decided to try the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Treatment, which is a cleanser, moisturizer, and spot treatment. I used it for quite a while, but had to substitute things, because once again, it over-dried my skin. I think the worst part was that the moisturizer had acne treatment in it and for my sensitive skin, it totally defeated the purpose! The moisturizer actually dried me out MORE because of the acne treatment in it! I didn't realize that the moisturizer was causing me problems until I started applying more every day to try and keep my skin from getting too dry... and it just got worse. So i had to stop using it.

If the active ingredient now is the same as it was when I tried it, it had salicylic acid as well. I think that using this was kinda what showed me that my face doesn't take to salicylic acid well. Once again, this didn't really help my acne very much. The first couple days, I could see it getting a little better, and then it completely dried out and didn't improve anymore. I think I went through an entire tube before actually ditching it, though.

While it lives up to being gentle and good for any skin types, it really just didn't do anything to help me get rid of my acne. It didn't last too long.

I'm pretty sure I've used every cleanser made by Skin by Ann Webb. I really liked the Mellow Melon cleanser. I used that one for quite a while. When the store I always bought it at was out, I got the coconut water, and found some success with it. I really like it, because it's all natural ingredients, has a pleasant smell, and actually helped my acne! The only problem was that after a while, my acne just didn't get any better. That's why i stopped using it. I used the peppermint and spearmint as well, and those weren't really as good as the other two. I really love the pomegranate moisturizer. I squeezed every little drop out of it when I had it. I would still use it if it wasn't so expensive and if I lived somewhere that was near a store that carried it. The lavender silk scrub was good for a little more power in the cleanser, but sometimes, it was just a bit too much. The cucumber sage mist was also nice for refreshing the face.

Even though I don't use this anymore, I actually do like this. Once again, as with the Skin cleansers, it helped to get rid of some of my acne, but after a while just stopped working. I actually went through 2 bottles of this before moving on.

My Routine NOW:

Within the last 2 months, I've been using some new products that are actually helping. My forehead is completely clear, and my cheeks are really getting cleared up as well. Really, the only part of my face  that is still pretty broken out is my jawline.

I use this every night before I go to sleep. There is actually also a "sensitive" formula of this, but I decided against it because the active ingredient was... guess what? Salicylic acid! So, I got this, which is comparable to Proactiv, but uses totally Benzoyl peroxide, and the repair lotion is more potent (3.5% Benzoyl peroxide rather than 2.5%).

Because my aunt sells Mary Kay, I get to try out a lot of products, and these are some of them. I use this in the morning as a counter-balance to the harshness of AcneFree. It's all very natural, without fragrances, and the hydrate is so light and just great. I also love that it's targeted toward people with oily AND sensitive skin. Usually that doesn't happen.

While I've used these two, my skin has cleared significantly. I'm hoping for it to continue improving, but for now, I'm just keeping on with what I'm doing. I hope that this helped you to see what is good for sensitive, acne prone skin. Hopefully, I gave you some ideas and introduced you to some products that you hadn't seen before. Let me know your opinions on some of these products! Have you tried them? Did they work for you? Let me know in the comments! Thanks, and I'll see you next time!

UPDATE on my Ranking Project Runway Designers posts!!!

Ok, this is just a super-quick update for anyone who saw my last PR designer ranking. I've changed my mind as to which day they'll be posted on. It will be on THURSDAY now. That makes it a bit more cohesive for me, because that's Project Runway day, and I post my PR review on Friday. So it makes a bit more sense, at least for me. So, I'm going to go back and edit what I put on the other posts, and I will see you on Thursday for that post! Click HERE to see all of my ranking posts up to this point!

Also, I have a Mary Kay makeup review coming up TOMORROW. It's been scheduled for about 4 days now, just waiting for a free day, and that finally came! So, I hope you check that out, because I talked about quite a few Mary Kay products on there!  In addition to that, check out my other blog, The CDs On My Shelf! I review CDs that I own and it's lots of fun! I think I'm going to make that just a weekly post now, so hopefully there will be a new review up tomorrow! Thanks for reading, and I'll see you very soon!

Whodunnit? Episode 7: Party Crasher

Another one bites the dust!

The numbers are waning and waning and waning! Seriously, just look at all these people who used to be here! Remember when we were all just sitting here getting annoyed by Adrianna?!

We begin once again as the power goes out. We hear the chandelier fall and everyone starts screaming as they realize Geno is dead. They turn on a flashlight and Giles reads a note from the killer. They aren't going to go directly into solving this, because they have to go to their rooms for the night. They're told that this is going to be the most difficult murder yet.

In the morning, as always, they get to choose where they want to investigate.
Kam and Ronnie go to the crime scene, even though Ronnie originally was going to go with Lindsey to the last known whereabouts. They realized that the rope was lowered down, not cut. There is a huge spread of blood, as well as something that appears to be glow in the dark on the ground. Something that I thought was odd was that we see a close up of Ronnie’s shoes for some reason. It’s kinda odd considering that we had the shoe print last time and his feet don’t look very big, so they could've been stuffed like the killer's shoes were last episode. Kam looked all over the room for a trigger for the trap. Ronnie thought something was in the blood, so he kept looking at the blood. Behind a bust, Kam saw a timer plugged into a power outlet. It appears to have been set to short circuit and turn off lights. Kam manages to keep this from Ronnie, so all that Ronnie gets out of it is that the chandelier didn’t kill Geno.

Lindsey is the only one to go to the last known whereabouts. She finds a necklace with big black shells with green paint and key rings. There is a note pad with a note ripped off. She does the little pencil rub trick and finds that the last note written said "steal Giles’ cell phone and you will be spared". And that's really all she found in there.

Melina and Cris go to the morgue. There is a huge wound in Geno's neck and his chest on the belly button. In the stomach wound, there appears to be a bullet. What seems to be the wound from the chandelier is on Geno's back. Cris wants Melina to leave Ronnie to die. They open bags and find Giles’ cell phone in Geno’s pant pocket.

Melina and Ronnie talk and Melina isn’t sure about staying on his side, because she doesn't seem to totally trust him. All seems to be good on the team cool kid front.

Riddle time! They find Giles sunbathing by the pool. The gist of the riddle is that they'd be blind and have to find something to see in the dark, and something about twisting a knob to focus. And then they're blindfolded. They're led into a pitch black room and begin looking around. Ronnie finds night vision goggles and is able to see the riddle on the wall. It says to look for the light at the end of tunnel. Ronnie finds a tunnel and crawls into it, while the other 4 are still blindly wandering around the room completely clueless. The next clue talks about a cold bed and a lei, so Ronnie runs straight to the morgue and finds the lei beads. There are letters on the beads that are only visible under blacklight. He arranges the beads under the blacklight. The cool kids finally figure out how to get out of the room and go outside rather than the morgue. Melina finally gets out of the room and has the same mindset as Ronnie. She catches up to him, and they begin to try and figure it out. Unfortunately for them, the Cool Kids quickly catch up and actually figure the word puzzle out before Melina and Ronnie can. It leads them to monkey statues with clues below them. Kam is the one to find the solution. He opens a drawer and finds a suppressed 9 mm handgun and nightvision goggles.

After the riddle, Giles is still chillin' by the pool. They are given a hint. Giles asks them "How did Geno crash the party?" and says that the answer to that question needs to be worked into their accusations. Kam tells his group about the stuff in the drawer. They think that because he didn’t wear the necklace, the killer had to resort to “plan B” which is killing him with a gun. Melina goes over to talk to the Cool Kids, but is refused info.
And then, possibly the most ridiculous thing I've heard... possibly all season? "Is it possible he had a trained monkey?" NO, RONNIE, it is NOT possible that there is a trained monkey!!!

They begin stating their cases, and everything seems to be going alright, since Ronnie seems to have decided that there was a gun in the drawer, but then... RONNIE WHY ARE YOU SAYING MONKEY?! IT’S NOT A MONKEY! He legitimately just said that he thought it was a monkey. Seriously.

At dinner, they have more comfort foods than fancy foods, and Ronnie actually tells them that he thinks it’s a trained monkey. Kam doesn't believe him because it's just so crazy, and I don't blame him! More on this in a minute...Ronnie finally tells them that he’s a detective/ bounty hunter. He's a bounty hunter AND HE STILL SAID MONKEY.

And then Giles comes in and announces that Lindsey won. Not Kam? Really? I figured he would have to win.
The killer broke into Geno’s room, left him the necklace, and wrote him note to steal Giles' phone. (Also, I'm still not totally sure what Giles' phone had to do with anything?) He fell for it and stole the phone. Killer had already set blackout timer. The killer painted the crest with glow in the dark paint so it was visible in the dark, and they would know where the body would need to go to make it look like the chandelier killed him. Plan A was to strangle Geno, but he didn’t wear the lei to the luau. So, the killer had to improvise for plan B. Geno was shot with silencer, and then the killer released  the chandelier.

The spared/ scared cards are handed out and this time, it's only Ronnie and Melina who are scared.

And then, in my opinion, Giles delivered the game-changer. He said, "And then there were four." I'll explain why this made me freak out as soon as we get past the death.

So, the next morning, all 5 of them arrive to breakfast, and are told that they're going to be treated to a spa day, and everyone is telling Melina and Ronnie not to do it.
Melina gets a facial. Kam gets a royal massage. Lindsey gets a mani pedi. Ronnie gets the hot tub. Cris does yoga. The camera flashes back and forth between Melina and Ronnie, when suddenly, there's a huge boom and Ronnie is blasted out of the hot tub. He lands in the pool and the other contestants rush outside and find him.

OK, so back to Giles "And then there were four" comment. First off, I immediately knew that this was a reference to the book And Then There Were None. I've mentioned it before in my Whodunnit? blogs, and have compared it to this show quite a bit. For those of you who don't know, And Then There Were None is a classic mystery novel written in the 1930s by the "Queen of Mystery," Agatha Christie. The premise of the book is that 10 strangers are enticed to this island, believing that they are guests of the owners of the island and the huge mansion upon it. They then start dying one by one and realize that there is no owner, and that one of the guests is the killer. There's even a riddle! The only difference is that the riddle describes how they die one by one. Each stanza of the poem ends with "And then there were ____" and the blank gets filled in with whatever number of people are left. So, as I said, much like Whodunnit? because the killer is pretending to be one of them.
This is where I'm going to throw up a *SPOILER ALERT* for anyone who has not read the book, but does not want the ending ruined.
Basically, in the book, it gets down to five guests left. The "death poem," as I'll call it, mentions that the next death will be a red herring. The guy who dies in the pseudo 5th place in the book is actually the killer. He faked his own death so that he could throw suspicion off himself and be able to pull off the other murders easier. And that stanza ends with "And then there were four." So when Giles said that "And then there were four" line, I knew there was no way that was a coincidence. Now, it could just be a harmless little reference to And Then There Were None, since the two are obviously very similar. However, I find it extremely odd that Giles would choose to whip that one out just coincidentally on that specific death, rather than long before. And to add to my suspicion on this, Ronnie comes up with the most ridiculous theory about random monkeys on the episode he was eliminated on? Huh? Is it just me, or does it seem obvious that he totally made some really stupid statements and made up crap about monkeys JUST so that he could have this "red herring" death and pretend to be dead? I'm sorry, I may be reading into this way too much, but when Giles made that reference, that's immediately where my mind went. Of course, at that point, I was telling myself that the red herring death would be Melina, since I've thought she was the killer. Now, not so sure. I'll go straight into my opinions. Yay!

Cris: Once again, I don't think she's the killer. She definitely has the intelligence and the cunning to be the killer, but I think Lindsey and Melina are WAY better suspects.

Kam: I think that I've once again ruled him out as a suspect, but I almost feel like we can't rule anyone out.

Lindsey: I'm still suspicious of her. I did see something that was a great point: she's an engineer. And that rig with Don's death was definitely a pretty engineer-y thing to do.

Melina: If I'm going off of regular game rules, i still suspect Melina of being the killer. And finally, someone accused her! It took Geno dying to get Kam off his trail!

Ronnie: Until he got eliminated, I felt like I could trust him. Now, I'm not so sure. That shot with the feet- maybe that was to show us a small shoe size? And of course, the way he went out, with the And Then There Were None reference, and the crazy monkey theory... I don't know. But I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he showed up at the finale and they found out he was the killer.

So, there you go, mortals! What did you think of my latest Whodunnit? blog? Did you think the And Then There Were None reference was as important as I did, or am I way over-thinking things? Leave me lots of comments, especially if you're loving my Whodunnit? reviews. See you next week, mortals!

About My Post on World Ventures/ DreamTrips

I have gotten quite a bit of negative feedback about my previous post on World Ventures/ DreamTrips, and I wanted to make another post just to clear the air a bit and explain my thoughts a bit better, since everyone seems to think that I'm an insufferable, google-abusing idiot.

I would also ask that if you do disagree with my opinion, that you express that in a respectful way, because so far, all of the comments I've been getting have been rather rude, and their writers have been insulting me personally. So please, if you want to voice your opinion, do so respectfully rather than lashing out because you end up looking like the coward when you anonymously attack someone on the internet.

First off, I've noticed that every single angry comment has been from someone who is a member of World Ventures. I feel like, in any situation, people on the inside fail to be able to identify and admit to problems around them, whereas someone on the outside is able to see the bigger picture and see things more objectively. I can see where people who are a part of World Ventures might have very subjective feelings about the business. People on the inside probably feel like they need to protect World Ventures, and therefore are seemingly lashing out at me for telling the story of how I was approached about it. I'm actually very interested in hearing what people OUTSIDE the company have to say about my last post and this one. I want to know if you find my comments to be out of line or baseless. Please let me know in the comments.

Secondly, Google is one of the main ways that we, as an internet-savvy society, learn information, is it not? I'm sure that you, as well as the people who called me "Mr. Google-researcher" (I'm actually female, just by the way) actually found that post and this post by looking it up on Google or a similar search engine. My information about World Ventures came from my personal experience, as well as the experiences of other people who have been approached about World Ventures. These people, like me, felt the need to tell people about what they experienced, because we felt like there was a problem. At the very least, this needs to be a wake up call to World Ventures, because they're coming off as completely non-authentic by having this model of recruiting people.

Third, my post was, in no way, saying that World Ventures was not really a travel company. Clearly, they are, and people with memberships take trips with them. The point that I was making is that they have a shady business model. If they want to come of as a legitimate company, why do they have a system that can so easily fall into the "Pyramid Scheme" category, which- like it or not- is a huge red flag to consumers? As I said in my last blog, because I'm not a member, I can neither confirm or deny their claims of saving money on trips, and I will freely admit that. However, I have read many different "DreamTrips Stories" from people who were a part of it, and found that the company did not save them money at all.

Fourth, I have found that people who want you to buy a membership in World Ventures are very sneaky, and this bothers me quite a bit. From my own experience, as well as other first-hand experiences, people have been approached by others under false pretenses and then have been pitched the whole World Ventures/ DreamTrips shebang. People have compared this to Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, etc. but there are some distinct differences. People with Mary Kay and Pampered Chef don't approach you under false pretenses. You know that you're buying a product from a person. Along the same lines, World Ventures has been very clever about not "really" making DreamTrips an actual pyramid scheme, because they don't give commission or pay their members for recruiting people. Kinda. The members' incentive is getting fees waived. So technically, they aren't being paid, they just aren't being charged. World Ventures wants people to recruit you so that you can recruit other people, who can recruit other people, and so on down the line. Mary Kay? They want to sell you a product. You buy it, you're done. No $200 dollar membership fee with an incentive to make more people buy things, you're just DONE. Can you join up and sell Mary Kay? Sure! But purchasing something from them doesn't automatically involve a membership that you're constantly paying for. That's the difference.

So there you go, a bit of an explanation for my post. I would ask that you not send me hate comments, as these are my own opinions and observances, as well as a summary of many other people's experiences that I have read. As just an interesting note, the girl who approached me actually posted on Facebook that she didn't have enough money to go on a trip and that she needed to learn to be smarter with her money. If that doesn't reinforce my point, then I don't know what does.

The following was posted as a comment at the beginning of December, but I'm putting it on the main post so it's more visible.

Hi Everyone,
As you all can see, I have stopped responding to comments, both positive and negative. I honestly just don't have the time to go through each and every comment and give feedback. To those of you who have voiced your opinions in a polite and respectful manner, thank you! I sincerely appreciate feedback, even if you disagree with me. However, if your sole intent is to be rude, to bash me, or to make me look stupid, don't waste your time typing out a hateful comment. It only serves to make you look brainwashed and desperate to save a company that you're too tightly woven into to recognize a single flaw. Honestly, I find it funny that half of the people who try to insult my intelligence can't even manage to put together a single grammatically correct sentence. This blog post is based upon my experiences, and the experiences of others. I have never claimed that anything I learned about the company could be considered "research." Those who aim to bash me have used that term, but I literally just googled it in search of other people's experiences. I have never claimed to be a business expert. I have simply stated my experience with a member, and have discussed concerns that others have had. The vast number of unhappy members/former members and the many people who have been approached in the same way as I was should ALL be signs of a failing business model, scam or no scam (although I do still stand by my "scam" belief). If you can't see that, then I fail to see how I'm the ignorant and illogical person in this situation.

A Review of Foundations I've Used In The Past...

Hey, y'all! I copied this from my makeup blog, because I plan on combining them into a single blog. This post, I'm going to be talking about different foundations that I've used throughout the years, as well as my opinions on them! I still have some of these lying around, so I decided to do a bit of a comparison. The above picture with my stupid facial expression is my "before" pic. My face actually looks more red in person, but I think the difference between the foundations should be clear. Let's get started, shall we?

The first time I ever used foundation was when I was 14. My mom and I went to Sephora to kinda talk to the employees and figure out what I should use. The foundation the lady there used on me was Bare Minerals' powder foundation in fair. The way she put it on was really great, and it gave my skin an even tone, which I'd never had before! I was really excited, so we got it and the brush, and the next day, when I went to put it on... nothing happened. Clearly the lady had some sort of talent that I don't possess, because for the life of me, I could never make it look as good as she had. I mean, obviously, she was a professional, but seriously, how different could our techniques be? It's a brush and powder. Anyway, I used that for a while before trying something else.

I think that I tried another powder before trying a liquid foundation, but I honestly just can't remember what it was. But, I'm sure it was loose powder, and able to be bought at Walmart. Past that, I'm clueless.

Next, I tried Covergirls's basic liquid foundation for sensitive skin. At this point, I was still using my fingers for liquid makeup application. I know that's not good now, but at the time, I was clueless. I think I only used a bottle, or maybe not even a full bottle, of this. I think what bothered me the most was the fact that it was hard to get out once it wasn't totally full. So I decided to make a tiny switch.

I used Covergirl's TruBlend for quite a while, and I personally think it's one of the best foundations I've used. It has a really nice array of colors, which meant that I actually got one that was the right color, which is a VERY rare occurrence! I did find that it didn't stay looking great all day, but that's mostly because of how oily my skin is. I'm sure someone with dry or normal skin would absolutely love this. What made me switch, though, was that I started breaking out worse, and I knew that powder foundations are better for your skin and don't clog pores. As you can see in the picture, I got pretty good coverage- that terrible chin pimple is much less red. Forehead is a touch less shiny, and my skintone is even. Also, this was with one full squirt. So not that much. If only it stayed like that all day!

So, that's why I switched to Physicians Formula  Mineral Wear Loose Powder. What I found, though, was kinda the same thing that I realized with the Bare Minerals powder: I have zero skill with powders! I don't know if it's me, or the product, but I can never seem to get it to look like it's doing anything! I can say that this always makes my face feel very soft. Now, since I have a good amount left, I use it as setting powder. As you can see in the picture, there isn't really a change. That red pimple is still red, and even though you can't totally tell in the picture, the rest of my face is just as red as before I put it on. And I used quite a bit.

The foundation that I've most recently thrown to the side is Neutrogena's Skin Clearing liquid foundation. I used it for quite a while. I was hesitant to even try it, because my face doesn't react well to salicylic acid, but I decided to give it a go when their concealer didn't dry me out. While I can't really say that it helped my acne in any way, it didn't seem to make it any worse. Like Covergirl's TruBlend, this also didn't stay put all day. I feel like the people who made it should have made sure it would stay put on oily skin, since acne comes from oily skin, but whatever!

So, those are the foundations I've used in the past. Soon, I'll post about my current makeup routine! Hopefully, I get something better figured out with the pictures, because the lighting is making it hard to see the differences that are very obvious in person. Any suggestions on fixing this?

Project Runway Season 12 Episode 3: An Unconventional Coney Island

It's time for season 12's third episode, and our second unconventional challenge! Woot!

Check out all of my Project Runway Season 12 review posts HERE.

The episode begins at 5:30 AM with Heidi going into all of the designers' apartments and waking them up. As hilarious as this was, the thing I find ridiculous is that poor Heidi had to be awake that early to wake them up! And she did literally nothing else with them until the runway. Poor, poor Hodi! (Season 1 Jay reference, anyone? No? Just me? OK then.)

Heidi tells them they are taking a trip to Coney Island that has to do with their next challenge. Clearly much later, in the daylight, Tim meets them on the Coney Island Boardwalk. They meet a guy from Yoplait frozen yogurt. Before their challenge, begins, they have to take carts of Yoplait fro yo and give it away to people. The people they give fro yo to will give them a word to describe their experience. The designers are to choose 3 words and write them down. These will define theme and direction of design. They then discover that this is a team challenge. They'll be working in teams of 2. Tim pulls out the velvet bag to choose the teams. They are: Alexander and Justin, Alexandria and Dom, Ken and Jeremy, Braden and Karen, Kate and Helen, Sue and Sandro, and Timothy and Miranda.

At this point, I was already slightly confused by what was going on. This was possibly because I knew from previews that this was the unconventional challenge, and I couldn't quite see how this whole Fro-Yo thing fit in. Since I was typing notes as they went along, I actually had to pause the show to figure out what they were actually being told. I couldn't keep up with Tim's instructions, and I type really quickly. But more on this in a minute.

They have 15 minutes to hand out samples and get words from people. These people have to be people that Project Runway got to come onto the show, because most people would just say "delicious" or something like that. After their 15 minutes are up, Tim announces that they are not going shopping at Mood. They’re playing games and winning prizes, which will serve as their materials. They each get 100 dollars with their go bank card and 30 minutes to play games.

In my opinion, this is really 2 challenges put into one. The whole Yoplait Fro-Yo thing could be quite successful as a standalone challenge, and clearly the unconventional challenge works quite well on its own. Project Runway does a lot of promotion stuff like this, like with the HP challenges, and the Garnier challenges, but this one just seemed way too forced. I mean, I can't even remember what words the teams used, besides maybe one or two teams that were in the top/bottom. And the judges didn't even seem to factor it into their judging, which just shows how completely pointless and forced this product placement was.

Everyone seems to be having fun and getting along. This is why carnivals are so awesome. The highlight of this whole sequence was, of course, the UNICORN moment. I know many people don't like Timothy, but I just love him, and that little segment with him finding the unicorn, freaking out, and running over to win it was just the funniest part of the whole show. And the fact that he rode it around just killed me. He's precious. I also had to laugh seeing them all standing in front of the carnival with their huge bags full of prizes. They all had SO much stuff!

We got a lot of workroom drama this week courtesy of Miranda and Timothy and Sandro and Sue. I definitely think that most of the drama between Sandro and Sue is due to Sandro just not being able to compromise on anything. He has too strong of a personality and is coming off very rude.

FLUFF! FLUFF EVERYWHERE!

We get another segment of Timothy and his unicorns. Apparently, according to him, unicorns are not simply horses with horns. I think he also said that unicorns have cloven hooves, which, in case you were unaware, are not what horses have. Cloven hooves have points that are kinda like toes, but horses' hooves are that perfect half-oval horseshoe shape (go figure). I knew the stuff I learned in Equine science would help me someday!

... No, really, I legitimately took that class my sophomore year of high school. And I didn't learn anything, because I did horseback riding in elementary school.

But I digress. A LOT.

Timothy also says that he doesn't want to cut up the unicorn. And adds that unicorns are apparently more like hippos than horses. And unfortunately, no equine science knowledge can help me understand what in the world he was talking about there.

Miranda left the room at some point, and while she was gone, Timothy re-sketched and designed the look and she got upset. During Tim Time, Sandro and Sue started fighting again and Sandro was being really rude. Tim also sees that Miranda and Timothy’s look is not great.

Later, they're all sewing, and Miranda begins badmouthing Timothy and their dress. And when he walks in, Miranda badmouths him right in front of him. Poor Timmy. I like Miranda, but I’m starting to get really annoyed that she’s being so incredibly rude. Timothy is thisclose to quitting, and when he walked out of the workroom, I was almost convinced that he was leaving. But, having seen the previews, I knew he hadn't, because it showed him on the runway.

What he was actually doing was going and sitting (with his unicorn, I might add!) and reading the card that his model, Sophie, gave to him earlier that day. This girl is just the sweetest! I'm not sure why she wrote him a card, but seriously, how awesome is she! Last week, when he went on and on about her being so nice and giving him hugs and encouragement, I figured she was just doing that to be nice, but it seems like she's really a supersweet girl who genuinely cares about him. That's the model you want to have when you're on this show. One of the sweetest Project Runway moments I've seen!

The next morning, Miranda gave Timothy a tearful apology for badmouthing him, but Timothy shoots back that actions speak louder than words. Ouch. While I can appreciate that he was extremely hurt, and that yes, actions speak way louder than words, she seemed genuinely upset and sorry. I think she probably took time reflecting that night and realized that she had been very wrong, and was trying to remedy their relationship before sending the look down the runway. She didn't handle the first day well, but he didn't handle runway day well at all.

RUNWAY!

Bradon/Karen: very sculptural. I was excited to see this completed, but I don't think I like it. It looks like there's a huge green tumor coming out of her hip. I'm surprised they got away with that one.

Dom/Alexandria: It's basically just a blue dress with a domo face on it. To me, it looks very junior, which is something that usually doesn't go well with the judges. Which is why I was completely surprised that the judges liked it. Seriously, what?!

Sandro/Sue: even with all their bickering, I think they ended up with a good look, even if Sandro was completely overpowering.

Helen/Kate: I think I may have been even more impressed that Kelly Osbourne. Seriously, when that walked out, I decided that if that didn't win, then there was something wrong with this show.
Alexander/Justin: I liked the colors. I thought the top looked good when the jacket was taken off. But that's about as good as it got.

Jeremy/Ken: For me, this was the dream team. And for the third week, they made something really impressive that got passed over for the top. I'm not sure what the judges were thinking this week.

Timothy/Miranda: When I saw it on the runway, I actually liked it! I really don't know why the judges hated it. Yeah, it may have been a little safe, but it wasn't the bad color pallete that they made it out to be!

Top 2:
Helen/Kate
Alexandria/Dom

I'm really surprised that Alexandria and Dom were in the top. Sure, it looked well-made and clean, but it looked SO junior! What are they thinking??

Bottom 2:
Timothy/Miranda
Justin/Alexander

Once again, I was surprised that Timothy and Miranda were in the bottom. I thought that in the end, they were able to pull it off, even if they didn't get along. I thought Bradon and Karen deserved it more, maybe only because I predicted Karen to be gone by now... but I like Bradon, so I'm glad he was safe. All the Timothy/Miranda drama came out on the runway, and I did think that Timothy handled it incorrectly. Sure, Miranda messed up big time, but she seemed to legitimately be upset about it. At least, in the lounge, it was pointed out to him that he was doing the same thing that Miranda did the day before.

Helen is the winner. Kate is in. Alexandria and Dom are in. Alexander and Justin are in.
Three strikes, and you're OUT, Timothy. Miranda is in.
Timothy goes out in true Timothy style. He says that he should’ve danced more. As he cleans up his stuff, he says that he won’t ever stop believing in unicorns and takes his cute unicorn with him.

So far, if you ignore the fact that i predicted Karen to be gone first, I've done pretty well. It looks like we'll have Sandro storming off the set next episode, which probably means he's going to quit. That's great for me, because it falls right in line with my elimination order which, in case you forgot, is this:

15-Karen
14-Kahindo
13-Timothy
12-Sandro
11-Helen
10-Dom

This gap represents the talent gap that I believe exists between those above and below...

9-Alexander
8-Alexandria
7-Justin
6-Kate
5-Jeremy
4-Ken
3-Sue
2-Bradon
1-Miranda

Right now, I'm thinking that I might re-do this just a touch. I feel like Sue probably won't make it as far as I originally guessed. Helen will probably make it farther than I thought. So, here's a new, top 13 order:

13-Sandro
12-Karen
11-Dom
10-Alexander
9- Helen
8-Alexandria
7-Justin
6-Sue
5-Kate
4-Miranda
3-Ken
2-Jeremy
1-Bradon

So, there you go! I'm really curious if Sandro leaving means that a previous designer returns. Maybe Timothy??? I doubt it, but we'll have to see! Also, Saturday, I'll be posting the first section of my list of Project Runway designers from best to worst! So make sure you check that out! See you then!

Construction on From Kristen's Brain...

Hey, y'all! Just wanted to quickly update you on some changes that will be going on later. These aren't going to effect your ability to read my blog in any way, BUT it should improve your experience on my blog. I decided that I need to fiddle around with colors and layouts, because, in my opinion, there's a bit too much black. Which makes sense, because I love me some black! But, I digress. Today, the blog is going to have a major overhaul, and hopefully it'll look totally different tomorrow when you read my Project Runway review.

ALSO!

OK, pseudo blogging schedule for the next few weeks.

MONDAYS: Whodunnit? review. I believe we have 3 episodes left, so it should get interesting!
THURSDAYS: This will *hopefully* be when I post my weekly Project Runway designers list. I'm working on the first one now, and it'll be done probably by Saturday, so I'll probably post the first one this Saturday, but every one after that will be on Thursdays.
FRIDAYS: Project Runway review. It'll be on time from now on :)

I also write a blog called "The CDs On My Shelf," which is basically a review of all the CDs I own. I've never set a schedule for this, but I do plan on setting one. Most likely, once I get back to school, I'll get a schedule for this one, since I'll have a better idea on when I will and won't be able to write blogs. If you want to check out The CDs On My Shelf, just click here. I have a pretty interesting and odd taste in music, so you never know what might pop up on there.

Once Whodunnit? finishes for the season (and possibly forever, if it has continued not getting many viewers), Mondays will probably be dedicated to random posts that I've been wanting to do. Currently, I'm working on a laundry list review of all the horror movies I've seen. It'll probably have to be broken up into a few posts.

Also, once Project Runway wraps for the season (a few months from now, I know!), would anyone like to see me review past seasons? I posted about this the other day and didn't get any feedback. I love comments, I promise! It gives me this warm fuzzy feeling when I know someone likes what I'm doing!!!

So, that's my little mini update for today. Check back tomorrow for my review of Project Runway Season 12's 3rd episode! Looks like it's going to be a fun, crazy, unconventional episode, full of more of Timothy's favorite UNICORNS! See y'all tomorrow!
